Adit 600 as VoIP router (MGCP) and Asterisk
Got at suggestion from CarrierAccess to use the Adit 600 as an VoIP router using MGCP IP protocol, instead of controlling it through an E1.
Have anyone tried this configuration? How does MGCP works? I've tried to search for it on Google, but I only find the protocol specification for it.
Is Asterisk fully capable of this? I can't find any documentatin covering the use of MGCP in Asterisk.

Adit 600 over MGCP.
Hi,
Anybody out there running Adit600s?
I have in my care an Adit600 channel bank connected to an old (version
1.0.6) Asterisk instance with MGCP. When trying a more recent Asterisk
(1.4.21.2~dfsg-3+lenny1, Stock current Debian) calls fail.
I have attempted to add the "slowsequence = yes" line to mgcp.conf. (It
seemed to be the only likely candidate in the example files I found

Does anyone know what I need to put in the mgcp.conf to connect to an
adit 600? Also if you know what I need to configure on the Adit600
itself, that would help too.

ADIT 600 <=> Asterisk Help
I've been reading the Google searches trying to understand how to tie
together Adit 600 to Asterisk to provide 2 way service. I'm about blind
from reading.
I assume, the answer is using MGCP between the boxes. However, the examples
I found don't really explain fully enough to know how to modify examples to
work for me.
I'll have in the ADIT with T1's. There is a CMG and

Prefered server hardware
What server hardware would you recommend for an Asterisk system which are really critical?
The additional hardware will probably be two digium TE110P cards, and an Adit 600 platform.
If it's possible to run on -48VDC, It would be great!
Are there any experiences with any HP or FujitsuSiemens systems? Or other "complete server" systems?
Thanks!

Adit 600
Has anyone had any success using the Adit 600 with the CMG card talking
MGCP to asterisk? I want to have a central asterisk server with 10 Adit
600's at various locations providing 24 FXS ports....
Thanks,

Comfort Noise incomplete - No translator path exists for channel type MGCP (native 4) to 256
I had MCGP working to a ADIT 600 fine with debain sarge stable / asterisk stable - wanted to try red hat and got the below message - then I re-installed debian and am still getting the same message below - any comments are greatly appreciated - I did play with the config files with no prevail - the Adit seems to be doing its job per tech support at CAC. I listed my conigs below

ADIT 600 & CMG <=> Asterisk question
I've searched but can't find an answer as to how many MGCP paths can a
single ADIT/CMG card support? It appears it's only 24 ports, maybe 48.
What I'd like to do is install 6 Telco T1's into a single (or more) Adit
600 and route inbound calls towards asterisk. Can I have more than one
CMG in a single chassis?
Or maybe you know of a better way to connect T1's to

MGCP Channel Lockup and other probelms
Hi All,
I'm trying to hook up asterisk (CVS-HEAD-02/09/05-13:44:11 ) to a ADIT
600 via MGCP. Got it working really nice but now have a pretty bad problem:
1. When I perform a flash on the telephone, I usually get a second
dialtone, but when I dial, dialtone doesn't break. If I flash back and
forth a few times, it will eventually give me no dialtone.. here if I
dial, it successfully

ADIT TDM T1 <> Asterisk MGCP
I have this idea to use an old ADIT 600 with a CMG card to convert two T1
TDM circuits to MGCP towards asterisk. The basics I've found on the net,
but there is not much available.
I've cut and pasted the mgcp.conf details I could find, but there not much
as far as CMG setup.
I was hoping I could hook-up with someone that's tried this so I could pick
your brain about the finer

TE405P + Adit 600 and FXO module - should this work?
Folks,
I'm experimenting with bringing multiple (8) analog lines from our local
telco into a Carrier Access ADIT 600 channel bank with an FXO module, then
having this talk to Asterisk via the T1 TDM controller on the ADIT and a
TE405P card.
I don't know if this will work well (ie: give me decent echo cancellation,
call disconnect supervision, caller ID etc) but I haven't had much

Problems with ADIT 600 - latency, loss, etc
I'm emailing this as the customer in this case, since my carrier appears
to be completely unable to solve this. A brief rundown of the problem:
- We have several voice lines going through the ADIT, of course into a
VoIP type of arrangement.
- Voice traffic will become choppy, even drop calls completely, at random
but quite often. Modem calls (which we needed unfortunately) are a joke.

Asterisk & Adit 600 Configuration
Has anyone ever gotten an Adit 600 to work with Asterisk1.4 via MGCP.

Some more hardware and E1 questions
Hi again folks! ;)
As before, I will transform one E1 30 Channel PRI into 30 FXS channels using Adit 600.
Now I'm into choosing server platform. And the two opponents are:
* Dell PowerEdge 750 w/ SCSI RAID (or even SATA RAID1)
* FujistuSiemens PRIMERGY RX100 S2 (SATA RAID1)
As I've seen people having problem with HP server, I havn't looked at it at all.

DTMF detection with Adit 600
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

It seems like Asterisk are having problems detecting DTMF digits when
using an Adit 600 channel bank via MGCP.
I've tried to turn on RFC 2833 on both Adit and Asterisk, but no
digits at all are working then.
Anyone experienced simular with Adit or other channel banks?
I'm also unable to use V.90 modem through my setup (Adit600 via MGCP

Rhino Channel Bank or ADIT 600
I am forklifting a Merridian option 51c with 112 Nortel Digital Handsets
and 400 analog units. For the analog units I have quotes for 9 ADIT 600
48 port fxs units and 17 Rhino 24 port FXS channel banks. I have used
neither. Which is the best choice? The price difference is not that
great. I am looking at Citelinks 24 port Handset Gateway for the Nortel
Digital units. (Any other suggestions

ADIT 600 "Dynamic Impedance matching"
Has anyone ever heard of this so called Dynamic Impedance matching on
the ADIT 600? I called their support and they've never heard of it. We
are of course having echo problems are on the far end due to
digital/analog conversion on the local end using a channel bank. We have
purchased an ADIT 600 and yes the complaints are "far less" however
we're still getting them. While I have

[Fwd: Re: Adit 600 channel bank in UK setting]
Jon,
I actually had some more discussions with Tim on this issue, and it seems that the channel bank
would still be a good option to choose for internal purposes. I would not see any other solution
than a channel bank to connect many 2wire phones into one asterisk box. I had a talk today with
Carrier Access, and it seems that the adit would do us fine. The fxs cards of the adit 600 are

Adit 600 FXO card sound quality
I have an adit 600 with one fxo card connected to a Digium single span T1 card.
CallerID, disconnect supervision work perfect, however the users
complain that they have some sound quality issues, after testing it I
realized that whenever one is in a phone call they get like silence
between the sounds coming from the other party, almost like a cell
phone, in other words if there is no sound coming

Carrier Access CMG/FXS MGCP to Asterisk, Works Fine
FYI,
Follow the Quick Start Guide from Carrier Access to setup the CMG (Customer
Media Gateway) Router card. Follow the Asterisk mgcp.conf wiki page setup.
The only issue I had was with the CAC CMG card, it defaults to strict policy
message exchange and dial-tone will not come across when you go off-hook on
a FXS port. To resolve this, get back into the CAC CMG configuration, goto:
