Transfer directly to voicemail?
Does anyone have a setup (or am I missing a simple thing here) to transfer a caller directly to someone voicemail? Example: I receive a call, the caller wants to speak with x, who I know is not in the office. Other than transferring them to x's extension, which rings to timeout and then picks up voicemail, can I transfer right into voicemail? I am using all SIP phones in my setup (7960s).

GXP-2000 and transferring call directly to voicemail

Hi, Our operator frequently gets requests to transfer a call directly to voicemail in order for the caller to leave a message without disturbing the callee. Basicly, I'm looking for a blindxfer to vm. My first thought was to prepend a digit (eg 7) to the extension but this does not fit well with our dialplan. Using a Cisco 7960G
Is anyone using the subject phone without the proprietary call setup equipment? How do you configure this phone to use the * pbx? I am hoping to go out and buy a couple of phones but the dealer here says I need to spend another $15K or so for the call manager equipment. Attended transfer reconnect when goes to voicemail?
Hi Running bristuffed 0.3.0-PRE-1f which is 1.2.1. Using *2 in features.conf for attended transfer. Works well if someone answers. But the following sequence causes issue: 1. Wrong voicemail after transfer?
I'm using a modified "default config" file for extensions.conf, the one that uses macro-stdexten to handle the stations. We use a TDM30 card for our stations. When a call that has been rung in using that macro transfers the call things work just fine as far as the "other" instrument ringing. Problem Transferring Direct to Voicemail
I am having an issue with 1.4 where we can't successfully transfer a call directly to a voicemail box. We hit "Transfer" on the phone and dial the mailbox number we want to send it to, My dial plan for this is: exten=>_*40XX,n,Voicemail(${EXTEN:1},u) The voicemail system picks up and starts to play its message and at this point. How to configure directory within voicemail transfer to search by first name?
When I go to Directory() inside extensions.conf, I can set the dial-context and change the search option to be for first name instead of last by passing the appropriate options. How does one configure the directory inside voicemail to do the same thing (usedirectory=yes inside voicemail.conf). There doesn't seem to be a way to configure the directory that is presented to the voicemail user
