PCI-E CF adapter?
I know this is slightly OT but folks discuss zfs compatible hardware
here all the time. :)
Has anyone used something like this combination?

It''d be nice to have externally accessible CF slots for my NAS. I can''t

Cisco 7960 Support Products
I just tried to order the CON-SNT-CP7960 part from CDW. This is the ~$8 1yr
support contract that's supposed to give access to the Cisco download site
for firmware for the 7960 . wellll, I got a call from CDW saying that Cisco
wouldn't authorize them to sell that product to me. The sales rep
conferenced me in with the CDW Cisco person and he e...

Cisco 79xx firmware
I have several Cisco 79xx phones (7905, 7920, 7940, 7960, 7970, ATA 186) and I need to buy firmware for them. I have contacted http://www.cdw.com and http://www.insight.com/ but they didn't respond.
Can anybody tell me where can I buy SCCP and SIP firmware for my phones?
BTW, I'm in Croatia (Hrvatska). I heard that location does matter.
P.S.
My local Cisco reseller wants to sell me technical support agreement which cost around...

Cisco Downloads --> was --> Re: Cisco 7960 and Asterisk...not working...
I just had to deal with this yesterday. I called Cisco and they gave me a
part number for the support contract. I looked around and it was $90... I
posted back to this list and was happy when someone gave me the correct part
number, which at CDW was $10... Not too bad.
Although I can't believe Cisco waists time with $10 service contracts. At
that point just make the damn thing free.
Anyway, I don't have the email in front of me but google the list from
yesterday (Friday) and I'm sure you will come across it.

Maintenance Contract for a Cisco 7960 phone
Hi,
I have followed the thread on where to get a maintenance contract so that I
can upgrade the firmware to a SIP version and have called two different
places, CDW and Insight. Neither place will sell the contact, all I get is
a B.S. excuse to why they can't. Has anyone had luck with a more friendly
place or do they have the images?
TIA,
Trevor

permission denied accessing directories - groupmap - please help
Hello,
User can ssh into the box fine, but the directories I groupmapped are
not translating (maybe they are not supposed to?)
I have, for example, a share called Share_Dfsroot_pvcs-cdw_C that I
used net groupmap to map to a unix directory called cdw. I set the
group id to match what Share_Dfsroot_pvcs_cdw_C uses in /etc/group. I
chgrp cdw on a directory. When the user logs into the server, the
directories get translated back to Share_Dfsroot_pvcs_cdw_C, which I see
when I run...

Re: Obtaining Cisco Firmware painlessly andLEGITIMATELY?
CDW is not a Gold Cisco partner. I would talk with a group called Shore
Group http://www.shoregroup.com I know they do a lot of Cisco VoIP work
and can sell you a SmartNet contract no problem.
Cheers

SuSE Linux Enterprise Server OpenSSH 5.1p1 nagle issue?
I have a system in place where it appears that TCP will make a massive
change in behavior mid-stream with existing SSH sessions. We noticed the
issue first with an application using an SSH forward. However, we were
able to rule that out by generating the same TCP characteristics by
having a perl script dump text out to a terminal simulating a large data
flow from the far end(ssh server) back

Cisco Support for 7940, Is this Right?
Hi all, Happy Wednesday!
Got a 7940G off eBay to tinker with and, per the wiki, contacted Cisco
about a service contract. Being just little ol' me, they won't deal
directly and blew me off (I hate dealing with Cisco, Nortel, etc as a
small-business person...)
Again per the wiki, I hit CDW.com and found CON-SNT-CP7960 for $9.14.
Looking for support for the 7940 (not 7960), I just changed the part
number to CON-SNT-CP7940 and it found an entry but had no description.
Called them (via Asterisk and a VoIP carrier! too cool...), explained what
I wanted, was assured that their $9.18 CON...

Vendors for phones
I'm in the process of setting up a test/demonstration system to show that
VoIP is realistic and applicable for our needs. We put a 7905 and 7960 on
a request for quote that went out the other day (to people like CDW &
Microwarehouse). All of the vendors returned thier quotes without
including the Cisco phones. So my question: where do you buy your phones?
We can't buy direct from Cisco (must have 3 quotes).
Thanks...

Try contacting CDW, you'll need the phones serial number but they can
probably help you out and get you the SMARTnet package.

Re: Obtaining Cisco Firmware painlessly and LEGITIMATELY?
...my company to do
some tests to see if we want to use the Cisco phones!
I bought one to try and compare the Polycom's and see if it fits our
needs. I have yet to get the Cisco working because no one seems to want
to sell me the SIP firmware upgrades!
I have talked to many vendors, including CDW, and they tell me that only
US Federal Government and international customers can order that
well-known part number on voip-info.org (CON-SNT-CP79[46]0). I am happy
to pay for the full USA service contract to get the SIP upgrade, but NO
ONE WILL SELL IT TO ME! They all say they just don't hav...

Help With File transfer of files named "Apple*" + Lacie 5Big RAID
Hello Rsync Community,
I have been using rsync for several years to backup servers across an
array of different areas.
I have run into a new problem that I cannot find an answer for.
We just recently purchased a Lacie 5Big Network RAID: http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=1596257
for one organization.
We set up a test server to start backing up to this RAID via AFP. The
server is a Mac Intel XSERVE running Leopard 10.5.6.
We are rsync'ing an internal volume of staff users to the AFP share
via this command set nightly.

Recommendations for QoS, PoE Switches
Hi all,
For a top quality setup, I will need to install high quality VoIP switches
with QoS and PoE. My potential customer should not have any problem with
call quality. Experienced folks, Please advice me what switches to install
and at what price. I may need it for upto 100 phones. What else should I
consider so that phones work without problem along with the computers on the
same network?
