Cisco 7960 upgrades
...ecifics. With the 5x series do I need
the P003-05 in the OS79XX.TXT file or still the P0S3 ?
Anyone have any ideas as to what I should do? I can't seem to get the pre 5x
versions of the software any more. Seems with my contract I can only
downgrade to 5x series. All that shows on the Cisco CCO site.
Please let me know
Thanks
Sascha

If anyone can share a copy of it, would be most appreciated
Or if you could point me to where I can download it
Thank you

Help Needed in configuring Cisco 7940
I bought a Cisco 7940, I need to configure it for
Asterisk. I checked the wiki pages. Followed the link
to Cisco web page. Tried to download the image for
SIP. It wo'nt allow me even though I registered for
the CCO Valet. Is the image available anywhere else?
I saw some of the messages in the mailing list that it
supposed to be fairly simple.
I would highly appreciate if somone could post the
step by step configuration process in detail.
Thanks in advance......

Cisco 7905/7912 SIP image location (on Cisco's site)
Hello all,
I feel dumb asking this, but does anyone have a link to the SIP
firmware for the 7912 on Cisco's site?
I have a SmartNet contract, but I just can't find the link (you can
search for "7960 sip firmware" and find that fast).
Thanks for the help,

Cisco 7960 and Asterisk...not working...
...upgrade the load to version 6 or
higher. I'm running the latest...version 7.2. (I'm very happy with it)
Are you using TFTP to load the configuration or manually configuring the
7960? I know it's a pain to setup TFTP just for a quick test. However,
it's well worth it. If you have a CCO account you can find the latest
load and config files here:
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/sip-ip-phone7960
After getting the infrastructure in place the following link was all I
needed to get my 7960 phones working properly:

Do I need a CH1 licence for Cisco Phones ?
I've got a question regarding Cisco IP Phones and licencing.
When using a third party PBX like asterisk is a licence required for the
Cisco phones ? Has anyone got anything in writing from Cisco to clarify this
?
Eg can I just use CP-7961G or do I need CP-7961G-CH1 even though I'm not
using Cisco Callmanager ?

Cisco Support for 7940, Is this Right?
Hi all, Happy Wednesday!
Got a 7940G off eBay to tinker with and, per the wiki, contacted Cisco
about a service contract. Being just little ol' me, they won't deal
directly and blew me off (I hate dealing with Cisco, Nortel, etc as a
small-business person...)
Again per the wiki, I hit CDW.com and found CON-SNT-CP7960 for $9.14.
Looking for support for the 7940 (not 7960), I just

is that this involved almost no change to the silicon to squeeze these in,
since you are just twiddling the sign bit, so they viewed it as
essentially free.
