Asterisk distribution for a Call Center
Dear all, I need to build a PBX based on Asterisk for a call center. I have worked with raw Asterisk but it's hard to work for big implementations think. Also I have worked with Trixbox CE for a small bussines and it was prette good, but I have not have many features like ACD. I know there is another version called Trixbox PRO -specially Call Center edition- that's not free but has got more features like ACD and billing. I've heart about AsteriskNow and I know it's free. Monitor application inestability and high load
...at in some calls the recording isn't complete. Which is similar to a bug that is mentioned in mantis but for versions prior to 1.2.7. The asterisk logs don't show any particular message in verbose level 3. Apart from the recording, I have a high use of Manager and the mysql is used for some bussines logic but I think that nothing to high load, indeed mysql never is the most important part in processor, memmory and disk access statistics. In http://linuxuanl.org/eald/random/ps.txt there is an example (no very espectacular but is more or less what happens) of the status of the computer with pro...

Re-downloading mails after migrate server
I think a good try is update the new server to latest dovecot version. I migrate about 1.5M mailboxes from dovecot 1.0.X to Dovecot 2.0.X and no problems (and we have a lot of users with the "leave copy on server" option checked). http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Migration On Thu, Apr 28, 2011 at 9:41 AM, Pete Conkin <pete at reach.net> wrote: > ----- Original Message ----- From:

Hi! We have an Asterisk Bussines Edition ABE-A.1-6 on a PowerEdge 2850 with 4Gb RAM. It was working 24/7 without any for a month, but for not related causes I rebooted it a week ago. Yesterday the machine suddenly stop working, with a kernel panic. We was watching logs, and found in /var/log/asterisk just before the machine hu...

handling spam from gmail.
...ork to some other provider. People joining these providers are the problem, because it allows these networks to mix spam with legitimate email. When clients start moving out, spam networks are becoming easier to hard block and these providers start thinking about their infrastructure and their bussines model. If everyone would be doing this, it is solving the spam problem. My below procedure should be applicable for any network generating a lot of spam. -----Original Message----- From: Reindl Harald [mailto:h.reindl at thelounge.net] Sent: donderdag 11 juni 2020 10:25 To: Marc Roos; doveco...

wine stopped printing
Hi, I started using linux (Ubuntu 10.04) in my bussines 3 months ago. Replacing my windows machines. Up to now, was all stright forward, and without problems. I am using wine (with all it's recomended upgrades). I use wine, because I have a little visual fox program that runs the invoices and stuff like that. Until yesterday, I was printing norm...

samba task switchin'?
...tested on Linux RH 5.2 RH6.0 and FreeBSD 3.3 and 3.4 (all the same result!) The problem is a group of programs written in Clarion ( still in active development, and working on different 1000000+ PC in many network/single configurations). This is some kind of financial/management software for small bussines. Databases are about 500K ..xxM size with about 20 files and 30 indexes (in seperate files). The nightmare is: the problem DOES NOT EXIST on any novel (3.x 4.x 5.x) and NT4 - whats worse - even Win98 can do it better than samba. Typical setup is, that one machine has whole program nad data and sh...

Feedback on Linksys SPA-921 and GrandStream GXP-2000
Hello I'm about to order a GrandStream GXP-2000 and a Linksys SPA-921 I'd like to have some user feedback about how those phones perform, and whether their LCD screen displays both the caller ID name and number (The GrandStream BT-100 only displays numbers, which isn't very helpful). Thank you.

Is the X100P a WinModem?
So I've been on the Asterisk list for a long time. Mostly looking to set it up as a cheap alternative to a commercial MeetMe bridge, as a for-fun project. I keep noticing the Wildcard FXO X100P sorta seems like a Winmodem. Winmodems are basically a sound card chip tied to a pots port, where the Winders driver takes on the MO/DEM functions in software. I've always despised them as a data
