Ogg Vorbis DirectShow status ?
Hi! What is the status of DirectShow support (read: playy vorbis in Windows Media Player 9 or 10 ) ? The vorbis.com web pages only link to some ancient web pages (xwmedia and tobias). I remember there was a wiki page about setting this up (partially written by me), but can't find it any more. Was the idea of playing ogg/vorbis in DS applications dropped ? Regards, David

Vorbis in Windows Media Player 9, (partial) success
As I said on http://wiki.xiph.org/ClientSupport I managed to get WMP9 under Windows 2003 to work with OGG vorbis files. Requisite : OggDS 0.9.9.5 - they can be opened with the Open... dialog and WMP does not complain any more that it is an unsupported file format - they can be dragged from explorer into WMP and WMP will play them without any complaint - they can be added to the media library.

search bug?
...r field, but the SEARCH does not find it, only another message. This is with dovecot 1.2.11. For the record, cyrus-imapd behaves as I would have expected, and I could not find anything relevant in the RFCs. Could anyone tell me if this is a bug, or how to search like I would want? Thanks, Balazs Pozsar

M/S encoding ?
Hi! I'm sending this message to both lame and vorbis developers, since my concerns apply to both ( and in case of vorbis it probably applies to the more advanced ambisonic modes the X, Y and Z parts ) Recently I did some thinking about M/S encoding and wondered if the same psychoaccoustic model is applied to the S ( and M ) channel as to normal L and R channels. My concern is that different

Any encoding speedups ?
Hi! I think some more speed at encoding would be very welcome. So, is there any work on faster vrobis encoders ? For x86 ( windows, linux ) platform ? Currently I use OggDrop , which uses ogg library 1.0final, on Pentium III 866 MHz and Athlon 900 MHz. -- David Balazic -------------- "Be excellent to each other." - Bill S.
