samba - Mar 2006 - is there a possibility to start a programm from samba on a windows machine?

is there a possibility to start a windows program remotely from linux via
samba share?

It sure could be :)

I know that  Jerry (Carter) of the samba team was looking at this a  
while ago (psexec) but I guess he's been busy with the Samba4 TP.
Samba TNG has a command called cmdat which will let you schedule  
commands on a win box using the at command.

By using the /now parameter you can execute commands directly.
This is not the best solutions but it is workable until Jerry has  
made his magic coding. :)

If it can be run as an NT Service (srvany.exe included) then recent Samba has
support to start/stop services on Windows. Results thus far of the psexec
discussion talked about on this thread already.
