samba - Apr 2005 - libsmb/nmblib.c:receive_packet(1018)

Received the following messages ( scrolling ) in the log.smbd:

users could not access the samba server.  had to stop the samba daemons.

ran a ps -ef | grep smb 

found many smbd processes running.  had to pkill the process, and then re-start
samba to make the shares
available.  Running 3.012

Can't find anything anywhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Interesting, what platform was smbd running on ?

FYI.

I have experienced this same issue with 3.0.10 running on Solaris 9. Only
happens VERY occasionally though. Might be time to upgrade.

top shows a single smbd process out of control and the log is flooded
with the errors mentioned by Travis.
