Dear Brian, i am very interesting, whether you've already solved your problem with the delaing when opening a print (plot) dialog box in autocad, because i have the same one. When you did, i'd like to ask you for the solution. When you didn't , try unplug the network cable from the switch. After them this "delaying" problem will not occur. It sounds like a madness, but....it works. Of course you can't print, but the dialog box opens immediately. Where is then the problem....? Julius

Where is then the problem....?You always have the posibility to setup your printer like a it would print to lpt1 and later change the print port to your samba server queue. You will loose the posibility to see who is in the queue before you, but the delays are gone. Choose your poison.
