[Samba] Problem with clients that are inactive for some time
Hi, My config: samba 2.2.11 on linux 2.4.26, nss_ldap 215, glibc 2.2.3. Clients: XP Pro SP1. Domain style setup with Ldap server over ssl. The server is Sun DS 5.2. Users complain that sometimes (and not on all computers) they are unable to log in after some time (several hours) has passed since they were last accessed. They have to reboot them and the problem disappears. I enabled level 3 logging and noticed those clients do not do "\PIPE\NETLOGON" in the 3-rd transaction (what normally happens) but instead they do "lsarpc" ("nt_open_pipe: Known pipe lsarpc opening"). No connection to ldap server occurs. The "passdb/pdb_ldap.c" code is not at all executed. It seems that exactly at that time users get "no user in database" error message. I wonder if anyone has seen it. I'm attaching an example piece of log (interesting part - 2004/08/20 09:10 - unsuccessful trial, then reboot and 2004/08/20 09:12 - successful trial). Please do not advise me upgrading to 3.x.x as an only option ;-) Thanks, -- Michal Kurowski perl -e '$_=q#: 13_2: 12/o{>: 8_4) (_4: 6/2^-2; 3;-2^\2: 5/7\_/\7: 12m m::#; y#:#\n#;s#(\D)(\d+)#$1x$2#ge;print'
