Hi, I'd like to ask you what do you limit Desktops syncing in case users put large files on them, e.g. films. Downloading / uploading such large files can generate lots of unnecessary traffic. Is there any kind of filtering possible ? Other solutions ? Cheers, -- Michal Kurowski perl -e '$_=q#: 13_2: 12/o{>: 8_4) (_4: 6/2^-2; 3;-2^\2: 5/7\_/\7: 12m m::#; y#:#\n#;s#(\D)(\d+)#$1x$2#ge;print'
Hiya, If these are NT4, Win2K or XP machines you can use the NT4 policy editor to limit the size of the profile. Once you have created the policy file you just need to put it in the netlogon share and all should work. I believe there are detailed notes in the Samba Howto collection and probably the example docs by John T. The only thing I could find is the windows "Slow network" setting supposed to disable network share checkout in case of slow network, timeout, etc. There is a registry setting enabling enforcing "slow network" for good. Samba has got "csc policy", but frankly, I do not quite get how to use it. Could provide some clue in here ?
