Hello, I'm very new to Linux and have a basic question. I am using Debian. Is there a module I can load (either from dselect or from an outside source) the will allow me to monitor file use on the network? Can this be done within Webmin? Hope this is the right place for this question. Thanks. Bruce
Thank you for the reply, Jason. I'd prefer to find something similar to what we have with our Novell 4.11 server. We have the ability to monitor "Connection Information" and "File open/lock activity". This allows us to see who may have a certain file open and helps us to resolve file use conflicts on the network. As I mentioned, I'm new to Linux and may be missing something obvious. Thanks again for your suggestion. Bruce Jason Balicki wrote:>You can certainly turn up the log level in your smb.conf and >get that information. > >--J(K) > > > > >
Thanks, Les. That's what this newbie needed to know! Probably a dumb question, but thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
