There is no password... They can get in if they search through their network neighbourhood, but they can't use networkdrives (if they try to they will be asked for the password...). I use Webmin and SWAT for administration.... Here is the smb.conf: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Current Config # Samba config file created using SWAT # from UNKNOWN (0.0.0.0) # Date: 2002/02/01 10:12:44 # Global parameters [global] workgroup = ... netbios name = ... server string = ... security = SHARE map to guest = Bad Password log file = /var/adm/smblogs max log size = 2048 keepalive = 30 character set = ISO8859-1 os level = 2 kernel oplocks = No preload = global homes printers default service = global valid chars = [...] comment = ... path = /home/samba guest ok = Yes [printers] comment = All Printers path = /tmp create mask = 0700 print ok = Yes browseable = No [IC] comment = ... path = /home/IC/ read only = No create mask = 0770 directory mask = 0770 hosts allow = ... All ... have data in it in the real file :-) I noticed that SWAT doesn't seem to put "guest allow=yes" into every section - could that be the problem ? Or does the global section override the other ones ? regards, Joerg
