[Samba] Samba - Winbind problem : session setup failed : System error
Hello, I'm using Samba 2.2.7a on RedHat 9.0. I'm trying to set-up universal logons between a Samba Server and a W2K SP3 DC, which has restrictanonymous=1. I followed the procedure as described at http://ftp.easynet.be/samba/docs/man/winbind.html - I managed to join the Samba server (MYSAMBASRV) to the domain (MYDOMAIN) - I used wbinfo with the -A switch to store the credentials of a Domain Admin user account, so that a list of all shares could be retrieved from the domain controller (MYDC) - I successfully retrieved a list of all W2K users and groups (using getent passwd / getent group) - I configured the necessary Winbind options in smb.conf + the PAM config files - I started Winbind after smbd & nmbd When I try to access the Samba server from a W2K client (MYW2KCLIENT) using \\MYSAMBASRV, a login screen pops up. When this happens, I get the following log entries in myw2kclient.log (I started smbd & nmbd using -d 9 for detailed logs): [2003/05/26 19:58:37, 4] passdb/pampass.c:smb_pam_start(455) smb_pam_start: PAM: Init user: mydomain+domainusr [2003/05/26 19:58:37, 4] passdb/pampass.c:smb_pam_start(472) smb_pam_start: PAM: setting rhost to: 192.168.1.102 [2003/05/26 19:58:37, 4] passdb/pampass.c:smb_pam_start(481) smb_pam_start: PAM: setting tty [2003/05/26 19:58:37, 4] passdb/pampass.c:smb_pam_start(489) smb_pam_start: PAM: Init passed for user: mydomain+domainusr [2003/05/26 19:58:37, 4] passdb/pampass.c:smb_internal_pam_session(647) smb_internal_pam_session: PAM: tty set to: smb/1 [2003/05/26 19:58:37, 0] passdb/pampass.c:smb_pam_error_handler(71) smb_pam_error_handler: PAM: session setup failed : System error [2003/05/26 19:58:37, 4] passdb/pampass.c:smb_pam_end(436) smb_pam_end: PAM: PAM_END OK. Any help will be appreciated. Bart.
