This very much depends on it's implementation.
When Samba is a member server, it probably doesn't know that the smart
card is being used - the smart card supplies the windows client with a
'password' to use on the network, which the DC knows how to check.
When Samba is a DC, you would need to interface somehow with the
'password' this thing generates - a module for the new authentication
subsystem (Samba 3.0) would do nicely.
