I'm trying to connect to my homes folder. I can see it when I browse in windows 2000. However, when I click on the folder I get a logon window. When I enter the username and password, it says it's invalid. The smb.conf file was taken from a simular working box. I'm using Ver 3.0-alpha17 on FreeBSD 4.6. I'm logging into the window2k box with the same username/password as on Samba. The windows2k user/pass combination is authenticated thru a domain, if that matters. Any ideas? Thanks, Jim Clip from my smb.conf file: [global] workgroup = WORKGROUP server string = Samba BSD ver %v hosts deny = ALL hosts allow = 164.56. log file = /var/log/samba/samba-log.%m lock directory = /var/lock/samba password level = 8 username level = 8 encrypt passwords = yes security = user smb passwd file = /etc/smbpasswd [home] comment = UNIX home directory space path = %H writeable = yes valid users = %S create mode = 0600 directory mode = 0700 locking = no Here are the wierd log file entries: [2002/08/12 13:23:09, 0] lib/charcnv.c:convert_string(147) Required 16, available 15 [2002/08/12 13:23:09, 0] lib/charcnv.c:convert_string(147) Required 16, available 15 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
