In my case, I had to apply the registry hack PLUS change the following
Local Security Settings (Start -> All Programs -> Administrative Tools
->
Local Security Settings):
Domain member: Digitally encrypt or sign secure channel data --> disabled
Domain member: Disable machine account password changes --> disabled
Domain member: Require strong (Windows 2000 or later) session key -->
disabled
I monkeyed with multiple options of the above four options, and the only
way I could get XP to login to my Samba PDC was the above combo.
