Hi all, I''m considering moving --parseonly to just puppet, rather than it and puppetmasterd. Considering that it''s really only useful for parsing a specific file, puppet has the benefit of requiring that you specify that file directly. Since Puppet now supports multiple environments, --parseonly becomes both more difficult and more ambiguous when used with puppetmasterd, because it means going through each environment and validating. Does anyone object to moving --parseonly to just puppet, such that we will always require an explicit file to be checked? This could complicate things, if you''ve got custom module paths in puppetmasterd, although the configuration file should be able to handle that. I think overall this is the simplest way to provide a consistent and easy-to-use validator. -- "They called me mad, and I called them mad, and damn them, they outvoted me." -- Nathaniel Lee, on being consigned to a mental institution, circa 17th c. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Luke Kanies | http://reductivelabs.com | http://madstop.com
