Saturday, June 2nd - reductivelabs.com scheduled maintenance
...plan to implement in the late evening, Saturday,
June 2nd.
In order to ensure the data we are moving won't change while we move
it, the following services will be unavailable from 23:00 CST on June
2nd until 06:00 CST the following day:
- All websites and trac (wiki) sites hosted with reductivelabs.com
- All subversion and bzr repositories hosted with reductivelabs.com
Following the migration, DNS will take some time to propagate, so
please be patient while your local DNS records tick toward their expiry.
This downtime should not affect mail or mailing list services for

Services on Gentoo Client Systems
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

You folks were so helpful with my last problem I thought I''d try again.
I''m attempting to use the services filetype to ensure that ntpd is
running on all my hosts. Unfortunately this does not seem to be
working on my Gentoo test system. I get the following output on the
client log:

virtual resources in 0.23.2, do they work?
Hello all.
I am using the munin module for a while now, I think that after the
upgrade to puppet and puppetmaster 0.23.2 (or 0.23.1) it simply stopped
working.
Were there any changes to the realizing and exporting of resources? What
could prevent this module from stopping to work.
What happenes is that new hosts (munin::client nodes) do get stored in
the database, but the munin::host does not

Multiple Environment Support
I''ve got a first version of a doc explaining how multiple environment

As always, comments are appreciated. Even if you just don''t
understand what the doc says, please let me know. It''s clear that
the community is generally unhappy with the documentation I write, so
if you want me to get better...

ANNOUNCE: Puppet 0.22.2 (grover)
...out in record time. This is a minor upgrade, mostly bugfixes
and small features, but there are lots of each. See the changelog[1]
for an idea of what this release provides, but keep in mind that this
changelog is my first real attempt at keeping an up-to-date changelog.
Enjoy!

BayLISA Puppet presentation video
...#39;'s any kind of
amazing presentation, but I do a relatively interesting demo (which I
hope to post as a separate video soon) in which Puppet creates an svn
repo, a Trac instance, the Apache config for Trac, and then restarts
Apache for me.

Hi *!
I''m currently working on integrating VServer support into puppet. I have

Reporting / determining state of nodes
Hello,
I recently started deploying puppet on our server
farm. It works wonderfully with RHEL4, Gentoo and
Debian.
I''m looking for a way to determine the state of all
nodes.
Say for example that I change a file on the
puppetmaster which affects 200 nodes. Then I go to
lunch. When I get back, I''d like to know which nodes
have been updated and which have not.
I asked this in

access to databases in puppet - best practice?
Hello!
In my puppet configuration I need to get some data from database.
Ie.: I''ve got information about my all hosts in db - thier name, mac
addresses, ip addresses, what to backup from this host etc. For now
it''s just .xml file, but it could be sql db, or ldap directory. Then,
using this small "database", I want to generate configuration using
puppet - ie.:

ANNOUNCE: 0.23.0 release
Hi all,
I''ve finally released 0.23.0 (only two days late!). You can get it
from the usual locations (although the packagers will take a little
while to package it up, I assume):
https://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/InstallationGuide
You can read the full changelog[1], which is pretty long, but here''s
a summary of the things you either want or should look out for:

thus to how providers and resource types int...
