System requirements for CentOS 5 minimal installation (console and ssh) are....128 MB ram, 256...? I can't find this information in rhel5 installation manual.

Especially with the 2.6 kernel. I remember running the 2.0 kernel in as little as 32 MB, 2.4 had some trouble with less than 64MB, and I guess some feature bloat just creeps into everything. -- MailScanner is like deodorant... A GUI based install needs 512MB (but 1024MB is recommended by Upstream OS Provider). -- Stephen J Smoogen. -- CSIRT/Linux System Administrator How far that little candle throws his beams! Almost everything I have switched off in ntsysv and system run very quickly on wmware and 128mb ram. Apache for 3-4 local users works nice. total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 122 57 64 0 7 32 -/+ buffers/cache: 18 104 Swap: 511 0 511 but, 256 mb for minimal text installation is good idea. CentOS 5 coming soon...only 5 days ;) Thanks!

Using the graphical installer on systems with less than 512MB may cause problems. o The anaconda installer needs at least 128MB of memory to work, and will only use text mode if the system has less than 256MB of RAM.
