[Asterisk-Users] two computers set up ... now what???
I'm new to asterisk and need some help. I have two computers. Each computer has a Wildcard X100P and a NIC. I have an incoming telephone line going to the "line" connector, and an analog phone connected to the phone port. I have everything installed, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next. How do I go about calling one phone from the other? _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your messages with MSN 8. you might as well put a piece of tape over the "phone" jack in the x100p - there is no use for it in an asterisk system, unless you want asterisk to perform solely as a souped up answering machine on that line. you need some sort of fxs hardware or software all you have now is 2x FXO. FXS could be - ip phone, voip hardware gateway, gnophone, netmeeting, tdm card from digium, usb phone device, t1 card with channel bank, etc etc. At 01:59 PM 4/24/2003 -0400, you wrote:>I'm new to asterisk and need some help. > >I have two computers. /etc/zaptel.conf fxsks=1-2 defaultzone=us loadzone=us /etc/asterisk/zapata.conf [channels] signalling=fxs_ks context=incoming callerid=asreceived group = 1 channel => 1-2 /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf [incoming] exten => s,1,Dial,Zap/g1/411 When you plug two analog lines to asterisk and call either of them you should get connected to 411 using the other line. Now as for the setting up asterisk look at www.digium.com Documentation->FAQ->Configuration regards Martin On Thu, 24 Apr 2003, Derek Beaumont wrote:> I'm new to asterisk and need some help. > > I have two computers.
