gnophone
I am having a really hard time getting gnophone working with asterisk.
Gnophone tries to register with my server but there is no response. I
can direct incoming calls to gnophone but if gnophone answers them,
asterisk does not recognize it. Here is my configuration:

IBM T30, Redhat 9, Gnophone, mono PCM, Internet PhoneCard
I have just finished installing all the pieces of Redhat Linux 9
(2.4.20-8), Asterisk-0.9.1, Gnophone-0.2.4 on my IBM T30.
Audio card is SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio. Not sure what the chips
are. But everything works on both W/XP and RH9. (Machine is obviously
dual boot)
Everything starts, Asterisk is up, sound/audio is great for CD player,
Volume controls, Voice recorder, RealPlayer, etc....

Gnophone no sound
Hello all,
I'am trying to use 2 gnophones on my LAN. But I can't get any sound.
Here is my configuration:
1. on PC1, I have:
- Asterisk compiled from CVS (CVS-05/15/03) and it runs.
- Gnophone binary version from Debian: 0.2.4+cvs.20020624-3
- a sound card working ( module es1371 for /dev/dsp)

gnophone conf question
I hope this isn't something newbiesque and Steve will denigrate me. . .
I just built gnophone, and I'm having trouble figuring out just how to
sync the "Telephony Preferences" in gnophone and iax.conf on my asterisk
server.
I am heading on a trip and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be behind a NAT
gateway, and my asterisk server is *separately* behind a NAT gateway....

gnophone/IAX problem
Greetings everyone,
I'm still a newbie, so please indulge me. I have set up an asterisk
server on my RH9 boxes for testing. Instead of immediately launching into
the hardware aspect of it I decided to go with 2 IAX clients (gnophone)
which I placed on 2 other strategic machines within my LAN. Here's my
problem, on one of the IAX clients (gnophone) I am able to do the asterisk
demo extension 600, extension 1234, etc; however from the second client
each time I enter one of these extensions it merely disconnects on me....

Linux SIP/IX clients
DOes anyone have any good suggestions as to good SIP or IAX clients for
linux? I have set up and am currently testing asterisk in a controlled
environment. I have gnophone running on one of my boxes but the gnophone
site has been down. So I can't seem to fing the IAX and Ix-devel rpms or
the gsm and gsm-devel rpms. So that prevents me from setting up gnophone
on another box. I am looking for suggestions as to some other IAX or SIP
clients that work on Linu...

gnophone and RH9 comments and questions
Hello, trying to get gnophone to fully function under RH9 and finally have the browser working from the rpm from 2001. Turns out I had to get an old Mozilla 1.2 version and alter the startup gnophone script to point to it (MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME and LD_LIBRARY_PATH).
How much better is the CVS stuff? I cvs checked out the gnophone...

phonecore, gnophone from CVS.
Hi!
I was trying to use gnophone with asterisk, but I can't make a call (It
just get the a answer of "REJET"), but I can register an everything.
Anyway, I decided to move to the cvs version of gnophone, so I checked
out EVERYTHING from cvs.digium.com (yes, a cvs -z7 co .). I installed
libiax2, gsm (the one that...

Gnophone URL
Sorry, this is a re-post. I sent the message from the wrong e-mail address. I was checking up on the cvs changes.
Hi. I just tried setting up the send url function of Queue app, but it did not seem to work with gnophone. I must have missed something. It never tries to go to the page.
I have this in extensions.conf:
exten => 1,3,Queue(support,t,http://www.yahoo.com)
It shows in the console that its passing the url option for the queue... but nothing on gnophone..? The browser window is open, it never has...

Help needed with IAX behind NAT
Hi All,
I know, IAX is NAT friendly, but... I have a problem running gnophone from a
box behind NAT firewall.
I can register gnophone with * through NAT, but when I try to make a call it
instantly disconnects. CLI
iax show peers command tells me that peer is unreachable. However this peer
is registred. Gnophone also tells me that it is registred.
It seems that registrat...

gnophone experts!
Are there any self described or otherwise gnophone experts out there?
Maybe I'm a stickler for pain but I'm having a lot of gnophone problems
and conventional wisdom tells me that they should be able to be figured
out. However, after reading all the documentation, reviewing the files, I am left
feeling that I am no closer to the answers...

Gnophone problem
Dear Listers,
I have the following problem:
me and my father try to use 2 gnophones to talk to each other. We both
registered at Iaxtel and both can call other numbers --- say FWD
numbers, but when one of us tries to ring the other's gnophone, we get
the "the party you are trying to call is currently unregsitered or
unavailable message" and nothing happens on the ot...

newbie - simple dialout server
Hello,
I am new to Asterisk, so RTFM answers welcome too (just include the FM's
link :).
I'd like to build a simple dialout server based on Asterisk.
I installed 0.4.0 from package (a Debian SID machine, "server").
The client is gnophone (a Debian SID machine too, "client").
My modem is a GVC 56k voice modem connected to the server's serial port.
I modified modem.conf by enabling "type=aopen", because modem can't be
autodetected. I've also added "device => /dev/ttyS2".
The modem seems t...

emulation. I've used pre-packaged version of Linphone and compiled my
own, using --enable-alsa to get it up and running. NOTE -- not all
versions of ALSA let you do this! There's a silent failure to compile --
check config.log to make certain that the ASOUND_H is defined.
GNOPHONE -- Gnophone also does not work with ALSA, although I haven't
yet tried to compile it from a tarball/CVS. With ALSA version 0.9.4,
GnoPhone won't even give me a chance to configure the sound card. IIRC
GnoPhone did work with 0.9.2 and possibly 0.9.3.
