I tried to add the mpi to my path:
[hodgess at gator bin]$ PATH=/home/faculty/hodgess/mpich2-1.0.5p4:$PATH
[hodgess at gator bin]$
Now Install:
[hodgess at gator bin]$ ./R CMD INSTALL Rmpi_0.5-4.tar.gz
