Just to say I managed to get this scenario working very satisfactorily
using the instructions here:
http://docwhat.gerf.org/2008/08/xen-networking/
I don''t know what made that howto work for me when others
didn''t and
like the author I had tried to fathom it all out from books and other
websites, but for some reason his explanation just clicked. And yes,
I have used a dummy0 adaptor even if I didn''t have to.
I had a brief problem (I hope) after getting it all working in that I
couldn''t seem to connect to my web VM - one of the public ones - from
my desktop in the UK but could using lynx on my other physical server
in the same datacentre. But I don''t think that can be anything to do
with Xen networking.
Cheers,
Jock
