I just got a Google Groups notification that I had been subscribed to http://groups.google.com/group/rubyonrails-talk. Looking at the page, it appears that about 4300 folks have been subscribed. However, I saw nothing about this on rails@lists.rubyonrails.org. Ditto. I would think this is something that would be notified about. Check out comment #29 from Jason "TextDrive" Hoffman http://weblog.rubyonrails.org/2006/8/10/new-dedicated-trac-server-on-the-way I suspect rather than host the mailing list themselves, they decided to just use Google Groups. The problem I have with not having a {Rails] (or whatever) tag in the Subject:, and having to filter just on the To: string, occurs when someone CC:s my personal email in addition to replying to the list. End up with the copies in the general in-box rather than the list folder. ----- Original Message ----- From: David Rose To: rails@lists.rubyonrails.org Sent: Friday, August 18, 2006 8:57 PM Subject: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: RE: [Rails] Wazzup with the rubyonrails-talkGoogle Group? Could we get back to Rails related discussions ? MUA configuration problems could really be discussed elsewhere... Lionel.
here is a tip I use gmail and I only filter on "Has the words: rails@lists.rubyonrails.org" and this works great, no need for filtering on To, CC, From etc cheers dion http://www.blogsaic.com/ - sign up now for free advertising to your blog On 8/20/06, Lionel Bouton <lionel-subscription@bouton.name> wrote:> > Bill Walton wrote the following on 19.08.2006 16:28 : > > The problem I have with not having a {Rails] (or whatever) tag in the > > Subject:, and having to filter just on the To: string, occurs when > > someone CC:s my personal email in addition to replying to the list. > > End up with the copies in the general in-box rather than the list > folder. > > You could add a filter on "CC", filter on "To or CC" or better on the > "List-Id" header, which is the less likely to make filtering errors. > > Could we get back to Rails related discussions ?
