[Shorewall-users] Anybody Configure Shorewall w/ Sangoma WANPipe T1?
Hi, I learned about shorewall a few days ago and am quite impressed with how easy it was to create a powerful firewall. I set up a test system with a cable modem and it worked flawlessly. I''m going to be building a Router/Firewall for a new T1 that will be using a Sangoma WANpipe card w/ integrated CSU/DSU to connect to a T1. Has anybody done this yet, or do you know if it''s possible to use say the interface WANPPP1 or whatever it is called instead of a standard ETHx device? Thanks. -Ron

[Shorewall-users] Anybody Configure Shorewall w/ Sangoma WANPipe T1?
I used both together and there is no problem in using any name you want for the interface. Actually in my case I use names more meaningful to my network (like wanxx where xx is a known internal code). Just use wancfg to change the interface name or edit /etc/wanpipe/wanpipe1.cfg and create a config file in /etc/wanpipe/interfaces. For people who don''t know what Sangoma cards are, check their website at www.sangoma.com. They have a great T1 with integrated DSU/CSU and a synchronous RS232 port for a ISDN backup modem for example. Also all their drivers are Open Source. Imagine the possibilities :-) On Tue, 2002-09-03 at 20:18, Ron Creamer wrote:> Hi, > > I learned about shorewall a few days ago and am quite impressed with how > easy it was to create a powerful firewall.
