Hi, we're trying to install rJava on SLES 11.
With:
R CMD INSTALL rJava_0.9-3.tar.gz
It says:
configure: error: One or more Java configuration variables are not set.
Make sure R is configured with full Java support (including JDK). Run
R CMD javareconf
as root to add Java support to R.
So we run:
R CMD javareconf
It says:
Updating Java configuration in /apps/R-2.14.2/lib64/R
Done.
and appears to update R correctly. But if we run this again:
R CMD INSTALL rJava_0.9-3.tar.gz
It gives the same error message:
configure: error: One or more Java configuration variables are not set.

So we're going in circles with this. Is javareconf not fully configuring R?
Are we missing something?
