samba - May 2006 - pls solve this problem

Hi all,

I installed cups and samba on redhat 9. Printer has been attached to the
linux box . We can print from the linux box. We can print from windows
clients too.  But My problem is that when we print from windows, printer
starts printing. But  I want to set them in the queue instead. Then I want
to go to cups web interface and release jobs. How can I do it? This is
urgent. Pls let me know as soon as possible.

If you can print from both Linux and Samba you basically have a working
CUPS and Samba.  This sounds like a CUPS question to me: did you try
asking in a CUPS list?  I'd also suggest you try to get this working in
a Linux-only situation first: it should then work from Samba too.

You might try keeping the printer queue disabled and see if enabling the
queue will do what you want.

You can try stopping the printer on the server. That should stop it from 
printing. Then go to the job queue and stop all the jobs. Next release 
the one(s) you want. Then stop the printer again.
