samba - Sep 2002 - help with Samba and WinXp Pro

Hi, 
 
I just installed Redhat 7.2 with samba-2.2.1a on a linux machine. I
connected the linux machine to
a wireless router, which is connected to a hub. I run WinXP Pro PC which
is connected to the same
hub. There is no problem for me to connect to the samba server from
machines attached to the wireless
router, ( one Mac OS X & one Win98), but I can't connect to the samba
server from the WinXP Pro
machine. I put the IP address of the linux machine as the WINS in WinXP
and enable NETBIOS over
TCP/IP. Everytime when I try to use "net view \\linuxmachine" or
"net
view \\IP of the linuxmachine", I got
the error message 
  "System error 53 has occured"
 and " The network path was not found" .
 
Can anyone help me to look into this? Thanks a lot.

Go to tcp/ip properties advaced and uncheck load
lmhosts. Also run regedit32 from start menu. 
In the registry change

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\netlogon\parameters
"requiresignorseal"=dword:00000001

to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\netlogon\parameters
"RequireSignOrSeal"=dword:00000000

Try this and let me hear how it goes.

Thanks for the hints. I actually did that regisitry change. The WinXp
still could not
connect to the linuxbox till I manually deleted the file
/var/cache/samba/wins.dat.
It's working fine now. Thanks for your help.

I also found out that if I reboot the WinXP PC machine or the samba
server at the linuxbox, I need use
nbtstat -A (IP of linuxbox) at WinXP PC and nmblookup -A ( IP of WinXP)
to be able to connect the
two machines together. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.
