Hi there I have a LAN with a Linux and a Win2k Computer, using DHCP to connect via Cablemodem to the Internet. So, we don't have fix (private-) ip's. We receive them via the DHCP-Server when starting up the Computers. Now i've setted up samba on my linux (Suse 8.0) computer to share some files (Via NetBIOS on Win, i think). With my current configuration i can see all my shares using smbclient on my machine. But the Win2k Machine isn't accessible. On the Win2k Machine on the other Hand, i see my linux-host but i can't access it, a message, telling "\\blubb is not accessible, the network path was not found" appears. I've allready upped the Registry-Key (PlainPassword). So this couldn't be it. Also the Users and Passwords are the same on the Win2k machine, the linux machine and on samba. I really hope, someone can help me. After searching around for about 1 day, i didn't find a solution for this problem. smb.conf: [global] workgroup = TKS6 netbios name = BLUBB security = DOMAIN encrypt passwords = Yes smb passwd file = /etc/samba/smbpasswd map to guest = Bad Password null passwords = Yes socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192 character set = ISO8859-15 os level = 0 preferred master = False local master = No domain master = False dns proxy = No guest account = Brian printing = lprng veto files = /*.eml/*.nws/riched20.dll/*.{*}/ [homes] comment = Home Directories read only = No create mask = 0640 directory mask = 0750 browseable = No [share] comment = Writeable Directory path = /home/share/ read only = No create mask = 0750 guest ok = Yes [printers] comment = All Printers path = /var/tmp create mask = 0600 printable = Yes browseable = No Thanks in advance Lemy
