Received this email this morning. But I seem to be the last poster on that list and search says the topic doesn't exists. Is there a next page problem on the forum, or is it just spam? There was quite a bit of spam recently... The mailing list might work well if you have gmail and know how to properly filter the things that you are interested in. It also ensures that you receive all the spam, which usually get deleted from the forum.... It seems the spam block keeps the messages off of the forum or gets deleted after the fact (I don't use the Forum) but go to news.gmain.org which seems never gets removed. The real url for that thread seems to be http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?p=47482 maybe some spammer is copying thread names, and his post was deleted?
DanKegel wrote:> The real url for that thread seems to be > http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?p=47482 > > maybe some spammer is copying thread names, > and his post was deleted? The problem is that the notices sent to users saying that someone has replied to their thread contain a link to the post, not the thread. When the post is spam, and I delete it, that link no longer works. IMO, it would be better if the link in the email were for the thread as a whole.

Another approach would be for the web server to be aware of deleted posts, and internally redirect only those URLs to the corresponding threads.

IIRC, this has happened before to one of your threads, so you should not need to ask.
