[Wine] I assume that wine doesn't like OLE programs using OpenGL
Just tried to run GMax. Got the splash screen and then, err:ole:CoUninitialize Mismatched CoUninitialize err:seh:setup_exception_record stack overflow 1028 bytes in thread 0026 eip 7bc3ed88 esp 02240f2c stack 0x2240000-0x2241000-0x2340000 Really, folks, I'm too old for all that Hexadecimal stuff. [Evil or Very Mad]Gmax 1.2 doesn't fair well according to most users who've tried it in WINE: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=6303&iTestingId=7377 <http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=6303&iTestingId=7377> Whenever thinking about trying out a program you've never tried to run in WINE before, the appdb is your first port of call to see what difficulties, if any, you can expect to face. Simply having a bad rating in the appdb isn't any reason not to try your program, just as a positive rating doesn't guarantee you will have success on your system. Sometimes workarounds are posted in the comments area of a particular appdb entry. Please have a look at the link and look in the comments area to see if anyone else is having the same problem or has figured out a workaround. If you find out anything helpful through personal research and troubleshooting, create an appdb account and share your experience with the community. [Wine] Re: I assume that wine doesn't like OLE programs using OpenGL
Thanks for the problem report about gmax and wine. I've updated the gmax appdb entry and filed two more bug reports. gmax seems to run fine if you do 'winetricks vcrun6' first, and if you *don't* choose opengl in the initial dialog. Does that help?
