[Nut-upsuser] Windows port delivery 1 and call to test
Hello, This is the first public release of NUT for Windows operating systems : http://opensource.eaton.com/stable/windows/ This development has been sponsored by Eaton. It has been ported by Frederic Bohe and packaged by Praveen Kumar. Please, consider this is a beta release. Many things haven't been tested yet and the graphical interactions are still primitive and will be addressed in following releases (a GUI is under development in Eaton). The goal is to integrate the Windows branch for NUT 2.8.0, but this needs code cleanup and review. The following drivers has been successfully tested on real hardware: - netxml-ups - usbhid-ups - snmp-ups - newmge-shut - mge-utalk The following driver is known to be non-working : - genericups NUT can be run either with command-line or via the Windows services feature. As a service, NUT output is made through Windows Event Log. The present package works on Windows XP and above. It is not yet compatible with older Windows versions, but work is also planned. Windows specific instructions for installation can be found in the embedded documentation. Feel free to report any working or non-working drivers, as well as any bugs. And more generally, feedback and comments are welcome. Regards, Fred, Praveen, Arnaud and Eaton --------------------------------------------------------------------------
