Install and run NUT driver netxml-ups under AIX 7.1
There is a problem with the installation and running NUT under AIX. There is IBM server with AIX 7.1 and IBM 11000VA LCD 5U Rack UPS (Eaton) with network management card. This configuration uses driver netxml-ups. NUT installed with neon and netxml-ups. When triyng to start driver netxml-ups has the following output: Could not load program ./netxml-ups: Symbol resolution failed for /opt/freeware/lib/libneon.a(libneon.so.27) because: Symbol memmove (number 87) is not exported from dependent...

MGE NMC and NutShutdownModule (and other stuff)
...ging a few computers using the programmable outlets features available on my MGE Evolution, unuseful otherwise (ATM). However, expecially for my server machine, I don't like very much the NSM client provided by MGE/Eaton and I'd rather use only NUT from my distribution. So, looking at the netxml-ups driver, I started adding some code into the mge-xml subdriver, to power off the system whenever the NMC tells it's time to go down. Although the code is still a stub and incomplete, it seems to work fairly well with my own setup. However I'd like to know, first of all, the best way...

Monitor Eaton 93PS UPS
Hello, we try to use Network UPS tools to monitor a network connected Eaton 93PS UPS. It basically works but we get frequent "Data is stale - check driver" warnings with a "data is no longer stale" shortly after in the log. We tried both snmp-ups and netxml-ups driver and both raise the same error. If have captured the communication between nut and UPS but all request/responses are way below a second. Any idea what is going wrong? NUT version used is from Ubuntu 18.04 repository (2.7.4) and Eaton Management Card is on latest firmware. Thanks...

[nut-commits] svn commit r2102 - trunk/drivers
Citeren Arjen de Korte <adkorte-guest op alioth.debian.org>: > Author: adkorte-guest > Date: Wed Nov 11 10:44:46 2009 > New Revision: 2102 > > Log: > Properties changed > > Modified: [...] > trunk/drivers/netxml-ups.c Oops, this accidentally slipped in as well. This update changed the behavior of the netxml-ups driver to allow a NSM-client only mode. In this mode, an outlet needs to be specified in 'ups.conf' to which the driver will subscribe. It will then only listen to the alarms it rec...

drivers- dynamically adding filedescriptors to poll
Recent work on the netxml-ups driver made me realize that it would be very useful to be able to dynamically add/remove file descriptors we want to monitor for activity (instead of just a single extrafd). We'll probably also need this, in order to support asynchronous I/O in libusb-1.0. The latter would be a huge...

NUT 2.6.3-3 Windows package
Hello all, Thanks to early feedbacks from Dmitry Ogorodnikov, we have made a new Windows package of NUT with previously missing DLLs allowing to run netxml-ups and snmp-ups drivers as well as nut-scanner tool. You can find it at : http://www.networkupstools.org/source/2.6/NUT-Installer-2.6.3-3.msi Please send feedback to the list. Question about nut-dependencies
Jim Klimov via Nut-upsuser <nut-upsuser at alioth-lists.debian.net> writes: > Upsmon as such has no need for XML (libneon et al); that would be > nut-scanner and the Eaton NetXML protocol driver. Sure, but it is normal for packaging systems to build the entire project, so that whatever someone wants is available, and thus depend on the union of the dependencies. That's what ups-nut more or less suggests by building everything at once, instead of having N separate ta...

Last saw/touched a physical Mac in school, 1994 or so :D Upsmon as such has no need for XML (libneon et al); that would be nut-scanner and the Eaton NetXML protocol driver. Release schedule
Hi Devs, do you have an estimate for a new release date? We want to deploy linux boxes which will include support for the newly contributed phoenixcontact_modbus driver. As we would like to create a package for both CentOS and an embedded Linux device we have, we would prefer if the package was based on a official release. If 2.7.5 is not coming soon (say 1 week) do you have a suggestion of a

Question about nut-dependencies
...of testing. I no longer have a working Fink install, so I would have to rely on others to test any changes. That said, since Fink moved their package tree to Git a few years ago, it is not too hard to maintain a patch against upstream to trim down the dependencies. If you don't need the Eaton NetXML driver and its dependencies like neon, don't build it. You can change any "BuildDepends: foo" to a "BuildConflicts: foo", and remove the splitoff that packages that up (e.g. https://github.com/fink/fink-distributions/blob/master/10.9-libcxx/stable/main/finkinfo/net/nut.info#...

got nut 2.8.1 but despite reinstall, shows 2.7.4
I think you have just the libraries - also you'd need a *-dev package for headers. The docs/config-prereqs.txt has the dependencies in more detail. In quick practice, --with-all=auto can help better if you don't monitor a netxml device ;) HTH Jim On Mon, May 22, 2023, 15:24 gene heskett <gheskett at shentel.net> wrote: > On 5/22/23 03:10, gene heskett wrote: > > Which file in the nut I pulled a month ago, should I start with to get > > the new version actually running? Question about nut-dependencies
I am new to the email list and a recent fan of the NUT software. I have been deploying Windows, Ubuntu, and MacOS clients. I am dealing with very old machines, attempting to keep them running at an office where they cannot upgrade the machines due to software dependencies. I was recently trying to get a client using Mac Ports and it would not build on my target machines, MacOS 10.5 and 10.6 due

neon (was libusb_get_string: invalid argument (other usbhid-ups users, please test))
...ause when i originally tried installing nut, i tried doing it from the archlinux AUR. There, neon is enabled by default. and i couldnt get it to build. so i ended up going to the source. Short answer: you don't need it for usbhid-ups. libneon is used by http://www.networkupstools.org/docs/man/netxml-ups.html to connect to some MGE/Eaton hardware, and by the corresponding nut-scanner module. I'm not familiar with archlinux or AUR, but if you still have the logs, we can certainly take a look. It might be that NUT is looking for an older version of libneon, or that there is another dependenc...
