It is a kernel problem. The stack size changed in the 2.6 kernel. You
need a version of the kernel with the old 8k stack size. You can get
such a kernel from:
www.linuxant.com/driverloader/wlan/full/downloads-fc2-kernel-i686.php
As you can see these are fedora kernels but might work on centos.
