R help - Jul 2009 - Superstring in text()

I'd like to paste a superstring with a number in an object.

text(8,2,paste(expression(R^2)," = ",mycor))

mycor <- cor(1:10,1:10)

Sorry,

there should be a caret symbol (^) between "R" and "2".
