The official homepage: http://www.sun.com/unifiedstorage And from the technical side: http://blogs.sun.com/fishworks There will be much more information throughout the day and in the coming weeks. If you want to give it a spin, be sure to check out the freely available VM images. - Eric -- Eric Schrock, Fishworks http://blogs.sun.com/eschrock

What, no VirtualBox image? This VMware image won''t run on VMware Workstation 5.5 either :-( -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
LOL, I guess Sun forgot that they had xvm! I wonder if you could use a converter (vmware converter) to make it work on vbox etc? I would also like to see this available as an upgrade to our 4500''s.. Webconsole/zfs just stinks because it only paints a tiny fraction of the overall need for a web driven GUI. Anyone know if something like that is in the works? It looks like a nice appliance for file shares in a corp network. -Andy -----Original Message----- From: zfs-discuss-bounces at opensolaris.org [mailto:zfs-discuss-bounces at opensolaris.org] On Behalf Of Tom Buskey Sent: Monday, November 10, 2008 3:40 PM To: zfs-discuss at opensolaris.org Subject: Re: [zfs-discuss] Sun Storage 7000 What, no VirtualBox image? I''d second the request for a VirtualBox image, so I can try it within my OpenSolaris dev environment. Any chance of this happening?

Any chance of this happening?>From the VirtualBOx 2.0.0 UserManual:5.4 VMDK image files Starting with version 1.4, VirtualBox also supports the popular and open VMDK container format that is now supported by a large number of virtualization products. This means you can import your existing VMDK files by way of the Virtual Disk Manager just like existing VDI images; see chapter 3.5, The Virtual Disk Manager, ... -- ( Kees Nuyt ) c[_]
