Does anybody have experience with GUI management ''openqrm'' ? http://www.openqrm.org I like its features but documentation is sparse - I need some tips how to start to customize and fit it into Xen installation. On the openqrm-Server activate Local-Server, Local-Storage and the XEN-Plugin. Integrate your XEN-Host like descriped in Plugins/XEN/About Set the type of your Appliance to XEN-Host. Visit Plugins/XEN/XEN-Manager and start managing your VMs...> > Longina >Best Regards, Thomas _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Først question: My Xen installation is 2 nodes cluster with HA based on drbd; Storage consists of 2 equal Iscsi targets, each of the bound to own node. I can start VM''s from templates and from xm. VM''s connect world via transparent bridges and vlans on top of the bridges- so, somehow my installation is higly customized - would it be a problem to integrate it with openqrm?> Hey - i wrote the docs ;-) > > http://www.openqrm.com/?q=node/33 > >> - I need some tips >> how to start to customize and fit it into Xen installation. > > The Best-Practice is to use the Local-Server-Plugin, which is able to > manage locally installed Servers like your XEN Box. > > On the openqrm-Server activate Local-Server, Local-Storage and the > XEN-Plugin. > > Integrate your XEN-Host like descriped in Plugins/XEN/About > > Set the type of your Appliance to XEN-Host. > > Visit Plugins/XEN/XEN-Manager and start managing your VMs... > >> >> Longina >> > > Best Regards, > > Thomas >-- -- Longina Przybyszewska, system programmer IT@Naturvidenskab IMADA, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science University of Southern Denmark, Odense Campusvej 55,DK-5230 Odense M, Denmark tel: +45 6550 2359 - http://www.imada.sdu.dk email: longina@imada.sdu.dk -- _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Since openqrm wrapps the whole XM-Stuff for you... The only which is mandatory is a Connection (TCP-Port 1667) from openqrm to your XEN-Nodes... I have installed openQRM on a Xen dom0 (OpenSuse 11.2, Xen 3.4.1). When I try to start the openQRM-server I get the message: ----- Starting the openQRM-server ver. 4.5 Interface eth0 has the wrong ip-configuration. The openQRM-server is configured to have the ip-address selinux=0 but the interface eth0 is running with the ip-address ----- I''m not sure if this is a problem of openQRM or XEN. Before this installation I tried it successfully on a domU. Therefore I''m asking here: what is special on dom0? Is anyone here who is willing to share his experiance? If so, what do ifconfig and brctl report? Sounds like openQRM is looking for an ethernet device that has been renamed or something (I''m guessing, I haven''t used openQRM or OpenSuSE). By default it uses eth0 - so i assume in your case it should be xenbr0? Just set OPENQRM_SERVER_INTERFACE=xenbr0 and install openQRM. If you already installed openqrm you have to alter the ip manually, first in tftpd: # vim /usr/lib/openqrm/tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/default -- e.g. append ramdisk...... id=-1 openqrm=$YOURIP selinux=0 -- and in the mysql-DB itself. # mysql -u root | use mysql | update `resource_info set `resource_openqrmserver`= ''$YOURIP'', `resource_ip`= ''$YOURIP'' where `resource_info`.`resource_id`=0 LIMIT 1; restart openqrm-server and it should work....> Before this installation I tried it successfully on a domU.which had eth0 ;-)> > Therefore I''m asking here: what is special on dom0?the name of the default Interface....> Is anyone here who is willing to share his experiance? > > MfG > Wernerhth, Thomas> > > _______________________________________________ > Xen-users mailing list > Xen-users@lists.xensource.com > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users_______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
The doc of the Xen plugin states: Xen plugin This plugin is tested with Xen 3.2 and higher and requires full virtualization (HVM via VT) Are there plans to support PV clients also?
