I am VERY new to using Xen, and I am having some issues with hosting Windows guests. Lets break it down. I am running Xen, on a Dell Optiplex 745 desktop with a single integrated NIC that is hosting two Windows 2003 Server standard edition SP 2 each configured with 2 NICs. The original image was configured and setup, and then cloned through the UI. The issue I am experiencing now is the two nodes originally did power on simultaneously with no issues. After 3-4 days of being "stable" they began to "Blue-Screen" and the reason is hardware related and likely the NICs. I have installed a second physical NIC to the host server, and copied its drivers ti the C:\ of both guests. I have assigned one the the guest the 2nd new NIC (xenbr1). I hope the information I have provided is adequate to get some direction on how to get around this issue, thanks _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

There might be 3rd party UI capable of doing this. Are you using Citrix XenServer perhaps? If yes, you might be able to get more help on their forum.> > The issue I am experiencing now is the two nodes originally did power on > simultaneously with no issues. Start with : - what Xen product/version you use, on what distro - how you installed the domU (domU config file will be useful) - did you use PV drivers - screenshot or text of the blue screen At this point I''d suggest you run chkdsk on your drive C, just in case there are some disk corruptions. I am using Oracle VM which has Oracle Manager (a Web UI). I am not familiar with Xen enough to get the version build. Could you relay me the command I would run to get an output of the Xen version. I only have a single domain (domain0), I am running Windows Fully Virtualized (I don''t think they offer PV drivers for Windows). I will try to get more information. There''s a possibility it''s Oracle-specific bug. I''m using RHEL 5.3 with bundled Xen (3.1+) and also Xen 3.3.1 with several Windows 2003 and Windows XP domUs, plus GPLV driver, and none of them have experienced the symptoms you described. The exact text or screen capture of the blue screen might help you to find more information. I have attached a screen shot of the blue screen that I am experiencing. On 5/5/09, Fajar A. Yes I am, Fajar, thank you for noticing that I completely overlooked the STOP message because I was busy focusing on other areas of the issue. On Tue, May 5, 2009 at 9:44 PM, Fajar A.
