[Xen-users] Diffrent OS on domU in paravirtualization ?
Hi, It seems to be a very basic question, but need confirmation. I am using Centos as my Dom0, running xen, using paravirtualization. Can I run NON-CentOS (more specifically Debian) operating system on domU, -- Regards, Meghanand N. Yes, we can! As long as you also use a pv kernel. Currently, for Debian these seem to be: - the 2.6.18-xen kernel from etch - the 2.6.26-xen kernel from lenny - two kernels from Bastian Blank You can use virtually any kernel with any distri. Luke, I have some Ubuntu 8.10 servers with new 2.6.27-12-server (pv_ops enabled) on top of Xen-3.2 (New Debian Lenny). I do know it does not work on CentOS/RHEL Xen 3.1, as that is what all my hypervisors were until I recently put up a server with a Xen.org Xen 3.3 hypervisor. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

However, I guess something else went wrong as booting Fedora 10 kernel as domU (both original and the latest vmlinuz-2.6.27.15-170.2.24.fc10.i686.PAE) panics. As you say, PAE kernel works correctly on Xen 3.3. I haven''t been able to get x86_64 latest kernel to boot though.
