Hi: This is the 1st time i setup XP on Xen (through .iso). But there''s nothing happen on my Xen after executing "xm create winXP.cfg". I''ve installed Xen on UBuntu 7.10 by using "apt-get install ubuntu-xen-server". After rebooting into the Xen 3.1 entry, i created a winXP as the follows: ==============================kernel=''/usr/lib/xen/boot/hvmloader'' builder=''hvm'' memory=''512'' device_model=''/usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm'' disk=[''file:/home/xen/disk.img,ioemu:hda,w'',''file:/home/source/iso/winXP.iso,ioemu:hdc:cdrom,r''] name=''winXP'' vif=[''type=ioemu,bridge=xenbr0''] boot=''d'' vnc=1 vncviewer=1 sdl=0 ==============================However, after "xm create winXP", nothing happend. The terminal only showed: ====VNC=1 Started domain winXP ====When i executed "xm list", there do exist:"winXP", but its time is always zero and its state is always empty not like Domain-0 that has a ''r'' state. And there''s no 5900 port since i can see nothing on VNCViewer localhost:5900. So can anyone here help me on how to make the XP Blue Setup Screen appear? Thanks! Thanks. I''ve changed the file in /etc/xen, but things are still like that. I mean the situation is always:(using xm list) ================Name ID Mem VCPUs State Time(s) Domain-0 0 1494 2 r----- a timewinXP 1 512 1 ------ 0.0 ================ My Xen is 3.1, 2.6.22-15-xen; And, there''s no /var/log/xen/qemu*.log in my box. Only 3 files are there under my /var/log/xen: xend.log xend-debug.log xen-hotplug.log So, thanks for your ideas. But any further suggest? So, it doesn''t help unless we move Xen to mac? Neo Jia wrote:>So, it doesn''t help unless we move Xen to mac?You can run Linux on Mac hardware, and in theory run Mac OS X as a virtualised guest under that, but I suspect that wasn''t your aim ;-) I''ve no idea what would be required to make it run, I believe (but could well be wrong) that OS X uses the TPM module to ensure that it is running on Apple hardware. I''d guess that you''d need to provide transparent access to the TPM module for it to run instead of accusing you of ''avvin a laugh, mate''. -- Simon Hobson Visit http://www.magpiesnestpublishing.co.uk/ for books by acclaimed author Gladys Hobson. Re: [Xen-users] No reaction after starting Guest WinXP
If you get a message that VNC=1, try port 5901. You can try "vncviewer localhost:1" and see if that connects you to the console. -Nick>>> XuNanxuan <nanxuan_xu@live.cn> 2008/11/22 10:07 >>>Hi: This is the 1st time i setup XP on Xen (through .iso).
