Hi, I was experiencing the exact same problem, and I nailed it down to /etc/hostname in the DomU. As soon as I set it, I can no longer enter its console. So if yours is set, make it blank and see if it helps you. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
thanks, I removed the content and restarted the DomU but no succes, removing the file didn''t help either. I noticed that I do get a console when domU is booting, but it "hangs" or appears to hang at: Running local boot scripts (/etc/rc.local) On di, 2008-06-10 at 12:22 +0200, Thomas wrote:> Hi, > > I was experiencing the exact same problem, and I nailed it down to > /etc/hostname in the DomU. So at least you can now see the output of the console by clearing /etc/hostname? That''s at least a step forward. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

try adding extra=''xencons=tty1'' to your domU config and reboot your domU - karsten Chantal Rosmuller wrote:> no not really, I just see a part of the boot process until > > Running local boot scripts (/etc/rc.local) > [ OK ] > > but I think that was always the case > there is nothing special in /etc/rc.local > > On di, 2008-06-10 at 12:34 +0200, Thomas wrote: >> So at least you can now see the output of the console by clearing >> /etc/hostname? this is a known bug with ubuntu 8.0.4 as indicated here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xen-tools/+bug/205450 so if you''re using xen-tools to create your images, you will have to manually edit your xen .cfg files after each image creation. -randall On Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 4:38 AM, Chantal Rosmuller <chantal@antenna.nl> wrote:> thanks kartsen, it already works.
