Xen users - Apr 2008 - 64bit srpm build error under CentOS 5.1

When trying to build the centos5 srpm under x86_64 I am getting the following
error:

Checking for unpackaged file(s): /usr/lib/rpm/check-files
/var/tmp/xen-3.2.0-0xs-root
error: Installed (but unpackaged) file(s) found:
   /usr/lib/xen/boot/hvmloader
RPM build errors:
    Installed (but unpackaged) file(s) found:
   /usr/lib/xen/boot/hvmloader

Anyone have any ideas as to what causes this?

Open the .spec file and uncomment the directory and the file:

%ifnarch ia64
%dir /usr/lib/xen/boot
/usr/lib/xen/boot/hvmloader
%endif

If you replace the original stuff from your CentOS install, you need to
install the i386 version of libvirt too because of dependencies. Then,
you need to updatethe Xen entry for the Dom0 in grub.conf manually.

the thread in centos-virt, I see John M''s suggestion to add the

mv %{buildroot}%{_prefix}/lib/xen/boot %{buildroot}%{_libdir}/%{name}

Would that be under line 106, `make XENFB_TOOLS=y
XEN_PYTHON_NATIVE_INSTALL=1 DESTDIR=%{buildroot} prefix=/usr
install-tools install-docs`?

So I need to unpack the spec, but how do I force rpmbuild to use a
different spec file now?

by overwriting the existing one ;-) There''s also an option to specify a
spec file in rpmbuild I think. rpmbuild uses all the files that you 
unpacked to the /usr/src/redhat tree.

Uncomment the line in the spec file that mentions /usr/lib/xen/boot/hvmloader

That worked for me, compiling on x86_64, latest CentOS-5.1.

Argh, I don''t know what I did but when I looked the first time it
appeared that was not commented out already? I may have got that confused with
looking at the Fedora Core 8 srpm as I was waiting for xen.org to come back
online last night so I could fetch the CentOS srpm...

I removed the stuff I added and performed that edit then recompiled and it also
worked.

Where does rpmbuild keep the log detailing the build so I can see what if
anything went wrong?
