RE: [Xen-users] how to press ctrl+alt+del on windows2003
Can you use ctrl-alt-2 to go into HVM domain''s Qemu monitor? If it is okay, type "help" to get monitor command informations. Using "sendkey ctrl-alt-delete" could help. Then press "ctrl-alt-1" to go back to your windows 2k3. thank you for help, but neither "ctrl + alt+ 1" or "ctrl + alt + 2" work. i installed centos5 without Xwindow system. and my server is located far from my office i''m using Xmanager in my desktop and i run virt-manager using X-forwarding if i press ctrl + alt, my mouse pointer came out from VM''s screen. here should i press that key exactly? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Try pressing ctrl 3 times, then alt+del. Works for me on virt-manager 0.4.0. Either that or use a VNC client to connect to it (I''m pretty sure setting it up with virt-manager will make Xen use VNC for that guest, though you may have to look at virsh dumpxml <domain> or netstat to get the port). Most VNC clients (at least Windows ones) will give you a menu through which to send ctrl+alt+del HyunSung Jang wrote:> hello, > i just installed windows2003 as domU on Xen 3.0.3 using virt-manager. > after finished install, now i can see windows login screen. > > but i can''t send ctrl+alt+del signal to guestOS which is windows2003. > is there any key map for this? > > thank you. > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > _______________________________________________ > Xen-users mailing list > Xen-users@lists.xensource.com > http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users- -- Martin Goldstone Keele University, Keele, IT Systems Administrator Staffordshire, United Kingdom, ST5 5BG Computing Services Telephone: +44 1782 584457 "I feel a great disturbance in the network, as if millions of processes cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced" Boyd Duffee -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFHHw9jRnwIDhcMR9MRAk72AKCCdYsUwyJ/5sltaNCv2AvGAo65QQCfeC4a G47DBQ9Y6DZxwloBcXwZmPQ=CLGZ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

RE: [Xen-users] how to press ctrl+alt+del on windows2003
The VNC Clients I have used are UltraVNC, and a browser integrated Java version of TightVNC (really nifty, I''ve written some php scripts to give me a very simple web based console tool). Both have out of band ways of sending a C+A+D key combination to the HVM Domain. Re: [Xen-users] how to press ctrl+alt+del on windows2003
Here is a link to the virt-manager FAQ http://virt-manager.et.redhat.com/faq.html and here''s the specific part of the FAQ: How do you send special key strokes to the guest console? If trying to press |"Ctrl+Alt+F1"| to switch virtual consoles in a guest, it is very likely that the local X server will intercept the keystroke and switch consoles on the host machine instead. To work around this problem, the virtual console window has the idea of ''sticky'' keys. If you press a modifier key 3 times in a row, it will stick on until the next non-modifier key is released. So to send |"Ctrl+Alt+F1"| to the guest, one can use the sequence |"Ctrl Ctrl Ctrl Alt+F1"| Just thought I''d provide the link to the FM ;) Mark HyunSung Jang wrote:> thanks alot. > ctrl 3times works for me too. :) > > > On 10/24/07, *Martin Goldstone* <m.j.goldstone@isc.keele.ac.uk > <mailto:m.j.goldstone@isc.keele.ac.uk>> wrote: > > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > Try pressing ctrl 3 times, then alt+del.
