windows XP Guest network doesn''t work
I have Xen 3.0.3 installed on RH EL5 via RedHat RPMs. I have a Win/XP Pro HVM and a Linux rh5 HVM. I can create both w/o a problem and can interact with the VNC based console for both VMs. The Linux VM interacts via DHCP, obtains an IP and seems to work fine on the network. The Win/XP VM doesn''t work with either DHCP or a static IP address assignment. I can see the virtual interfaces

32E (64bit) VMX keyboard is out of control, if given an addition ''hde''
Hi, This issue only happens on my IA32E VMX domain. IA32 VMX domain is okay. I am trying VBD disk in IA32E VMX domain. I used following disk configuration to create an IA32E VMX domain. disk = [ ''file:/mnt/disk1.img,hda,w'', ''file:/mnt/disk2.img,hde,w'' ] After creating VMX, its keyboard can not be used properly. For example, if pressing

Xen/VMWare co-existence?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, I''ve been working on a project recently which we want to virtualize. It runs on Windows Server 2003, so my first attempt was to put it in a HVM domU. Sadly, this application requires network performance higher than HVM is seemingly capable of. In the absence of PV drivers for Windows, I tried running it on VMWare instead, and I

Using physical disk in HVM
Hi, guys. I''m trying to use physical disks as virtual disks in HVM domains. But I couldn''t. I''m using cs10508 of xen-unstable.hg. When I use disk = [ ''phy:sda5,ioemu:hda,w'' ] in conf file, creating HVM domain says, I need to use ''file'' modifier if I use ''ioemu''. So, I changed it to disk = [

libxl: error: libxl_dm.c:1212:device_model_spawn_outcome: domain 1 device model: spawn failed (rc=-3) when creating VM using upstream qemu on Xen 4.2.
Hello, I''ve tested Xen 4.2 on CentOS 6.3(x86_x64) My goal is to connect to Windows VM on Xen 4.2 using SPICE client. Installation of Xen 4.2 was successful. Also creating Windows VM using qemu-dm and connecting to it using VNC are OK. But qemu-dm can''t support SPICE, so I installed upstream qemu. ( http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/QEMU_Upstream) I also installed spice-server and

Rails slow on Win2003
Installed Ruby 8.15 and Rails on a Windows2003 box last week. Whenever I start a ruby script, (such as script/server ), nothing happens for 60 seconds. RIDE will not start. I seems like something is timing out, or something. The windows event logs don''t show anything. The windows task manager doesn''t show a ''not responding'' process. Has anyone else

CentOS 7
Greetings all, just wondering if anyone knows if / when there will be training materials for RHEL 7 (CEntOS7) available? The last book I was able to purchase was the study guide for the RHSCA / RHCE exam, (by Michal Jang!) Does anyone know if / when the next versions will be out? I'd like to go through it all with the latest and not "last years model" under my belt! Thanks!

WinXP console
I''m using RHEL 5. One of the virtual machines I have running is a WinXP install. I start this up after I login to X. If I log out of X, the virtual WinXP is still running (that''s fine with me). However when I log back into X and start the Virtual Machine Manager, I am unable to open the machine. It normally says "Virtual Machine Console is unavailable." There does

Share Access
Could someone help me understand if what I'm seeing with share access is correct? On my samba domain I have two users (user1 and user2) and one share; the share has attribute "writelist = user1". On a linux machine I: mount the share with "mount -t cifs -o username=user1" successfully open a file in the share for writing with the perl "open" function

domain admin
i'm running samba-3.0.2 on a redhat 9 box with windows 2003. I've got a samba pdc up and running. I want a user to have domain admin privilidges. With samba 2.2.8a and windows 2000 this was easily accomplished with the following entry in [global] domain admin group = garvald this had the effect that garvald had full administrator rights upon logging into windows2000 through the samba
