Hi. I need to use some other distributions other than Debian as a Xen domU. These distributions are: - Fedora Core 7 - Opensuse 10.2 - Gentoo 2007.0 - Slackware 11.0 - Ubuntu 6.06.1 Server - Ubuntu 7.04 Server - Centos 5.0 - Mandriva 2007 Could you tell me a way to install it as domU, please? I searched for rpmstrap, but it supports only Fedora Core 4 and Centos 4... Could you help me, please? Thank you very much! Bye. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Gentoo can be easily installed using the standard method, as it''s mostly done via chroot. For OpenSUSE I had to recreate the kernel install package using DomU modules for initrd, but I''ve lost the steps :( Never had experience for Slack and Mandriva. You can find pre-packaged images at http://jailtime.org/ Ciao -- Lorenzo Milesi - lorenzo.milesi@yetopen.it YetOpen S.r.l. - http://www.yetopen.it/ C.so E. A generic way that should work for most of the distros you need paravirtualized should be: - install it in an HVM domU by booting a cd/dvd-iso - convert the domU into a paravirtualized one. For this maybe the distro already brings in such a kernel (fedora7 and centos5 for sure), or maybe its enough for you to boot the domU up with the kernel from the dom0.
