Stefano Cislaghi wrote:> mount: unknown filesystem ''devfs''The default XEN kernel comes without support for devfs. As devfs is opposed to be removed in the next time, you should probably go for another initrd creator, like eg. yaird (get it from backports.org). _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
Ok, so I can force early load of megaraid.o module and devfs....but which is the module for devfs? I think Markus Schuster is refering to the next version of debian when he writes "the next time". Except for yaird theres also the lvm2createinitrd script in the examples section of the lvm2 deb. //Tobbe> 2006/7/28, Markus Schuster <ma.schuster@gmx.de>: > > Stefano Cislaghi wrote: > > > mount: unknown filesystem ''devfs'' > > > > The default XEN kernel comes without support for devfs. Stefano Cislaghi wrote:> so I can install debian 4.0 beta to avoid all problems....Could be worth a try :) In Etch they will for sure not use devfs any longer. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

I think Markus > Schuster is refering to the next version of debian when he writes "the > next time".If I remember correctly, the code is still in the vanilla kernel, but the config option has been removed to activate it. I''m not sure about 2.6.17, but in 2.6.16 devfs was included in the code. Debian Etch won''t use devfs any longer of course.> Except for yaird theres also the lvm2createinitrd script in the > examples section of the lvm2 deb.Well, there are other initrd builders as well, yaird is just the option I took for my sarge dom0/domUs, so it was the most easy to remember ;) Greetings, Markus _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
