[Xen-users] Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
Hi all, I have another problem with starting domainU (xenolinux). I took me pretty much quite some time and i can not figure out why starting a new domain is failing. I will really appreciate if somebody can help me with this error. The error I get when booting xen-domainU is: /====================== Red Hat nash version 4.1.18 starting Mounted /proc filesystem Mounting sysfs Creating /dev Starting udev Loading scsi_mod.ko module SCSI subsystem initialized Loading sd_mod.ko module register_blkdev: cannot get major 8 for sd Creating root device Mounting root filesystem EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode. kjournald starting. Commit interval 5 seconds Switching to new root Enforcing mode requested but no policy loaded. Halting now. Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! /============================My configuration file looks like: [root@six xen-domains]# cat xen-export.conf kernel = "/boot/vmlinuz-2.6-xenU" memory = 128 name = "six-xenolinux" nics = 1 ip = "192.168.1.207" netmask=get_current_ipmask() gateway=get_current_ipgw() hostname="six-xenolinux" disk = [''phy:sda5,sda5,w''] root = "/dev/sda5 ro/" # Kernel image file. kernel = "/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.11.10-xenU" # Optional ramdisk. ramdisk = "/boot/initrd-2.6.11.10-xenU.img" ==============================DomainU fstab looks like: [root@six xen-domains]# cat /export/etc/fstab # This file is edited by fstab-sync - see ''man fstab-sync'' for details LABEL=/ /dev/sda5 ext3 defaults 1 1 ==============================Domain0 looks like: [root@six xen-domains]# mount /dev/sda2 on / type ext3 (rw) none on /proc type proc (rw) none on /sys type sysfs (rw) none on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620) /dev/sda1 on /boot type ext3 (rw) none on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw) /dev/sda5 on /export type ext3 (rw) -------------------------------------------- where actually /export is where I mount the domainU rootfs.
