I have a Canon Pixma MP250 Printer. Tried the Linux drivers and still can't get an ink reading on it. I have tried every single program I can find, from InkBlot to the Canon software that comes with the Linux drivers and none of them will read this silly printer. I didn't have a problem with it under Windows, but am having serious issues with the "genuine" stuff in it so was forced to switch to Linux. I tried running the printer software under Wine but now it refuses to recognize the printer at all. Any suggestions? I have read up on making symbolic links to my lp0 port and modifying the config files for Wine, but nothing is working. :(
I uninstalled Wine 1.3 through muon, then installed 1.5 and now nothing works at all. :( What did I do wrong and how do I fix it?

You will need to get the printer working in linux using linux drivers. John
> What did I do wrong and how do I fix it?Run the applications from the linux terminal and see what debug messages are generated. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log If you can not figure out open 1 thread per application and place the debug logs on pastebin.com posting a link to the pastebin here. Well, I appreciate the fact that printing simply does not work under Wine just yet. I can accept that. I can even try to find a work around to that flaw. However, I can't find much information about this blasted printer and it's ink levels under linux. It's almost like it's a entirely proprietized software function that Canon just won't release to the Open Source world. :( I can print under Linux and I can scan under Linux, but not the ink levels.
