wine users - Oct 2010 - Can't play Diablo II or AOE I

I installed them okay but when I tray to play them this error message comes up: 

Could not initialize graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver
are compatible with DirectDraw

I have an ATI Radeon HD 3000 integrated chipset.

Reinstall your video drivers or install the Catalyst drivers.

Are you using the ATI open source driver? To use wine with these apps you will
most likely need the proprietary linux driver from ATI.
